Mama Red, with a few of her babies, and one of Sheila's older babies....all sharing the new hay without any quarrels at all.
And the second photo: Some days I peek in the doorway at them, and it's a jumble of stretched out, happy bunnies. Three females who never shared a cage before, babies from two of those 3 bunnies, just chillin'.
No fighting, no trouble, just one laid-back, relaxed community.
Next up for babies? Hopefully Violet. She'll choose a secluded area in the colony to make her nest, and with any luck, will raise those babies without a cage being needed.
The first ones to graduate out of the colony? Sheila's babies, who will be 12 weeks old around the 4th of July (and all five are sold).
It's an experiment that is going well so far. :)
