She had given birth to two by the time I checked at 10:15. This time, it took almost 3 hours before the last one was born. She had a rough time of it. No casualties during the birthing process, but there were a couple of large piglets towards the end of the delivery. One little runt luckily was born second, and had plenty of time to fill up with milk before competition set in.

No casualties during the birthing process, but there were a couple of large piglets towards the end of the delivery. One little runt luckily was born second, and had plenty of time to fill up with milk before competition set in.
And out of the whole litter, one very large gilt has white front feet. All the rest are black.
(There will be fighting every time they nurse, because she can only serve 10 at one time.)
It's the only time she will be bred to Batman. He has moved on to Wisconsin pastures with other sows. I'm so pleased to have a large litter from him. (Happy Father's Day to Batman, too!)
And now goodnight, it is time to sleep.... Unless the little goat really was in labor, and then sleeping tonight will be put off for a nap tomorrow instead...
